Equine art.

art for horse enthusiasts and equestrians.

My art is characterized by simplicity. Its focus lies in the expression of the horses, which is portrayed solely through their silhouettes and the structure of the artwork. Their body language speaks for itself. I want to emphasize the magnificent aura of these animals - their elegance, energy, pride, and wilfulness.

artistic approach.

My artistic approach is unique and distinctive due to the collage technique where I use natural paper and acrylic together with the focus on the equine aura. I draw the opposite of corporeal appearances, which allows room for subject itself. I emphasize the elegance, willfulness and power of these majestic animals - which gives me goose bumps every time I witness it in person - and want to translate this feeling through the sonorous silhouettes and the structure of the natural paper - a material that embodies both nature's raw strength and its delicate vulnerability at the same time.

the evolution of my art.

During a transformative artist residency, my creative approach underwent a significant shift. I began to experiment with a unique technique I call "drawing with paper," treating my self-made natural paper as if it were paint. While horses continued to hold a central place in my art, they gradually transformed into abstract forms, seamlessly merging with the surrounding landscapes.
“Heimat”, a German term that beautifully encapsulates the sense of belonging and home, played a pivotal role in shaping my artistic direction. To me, horses symbolized more than just animals; they embodied the feeling of "Heimat" itself. Despite the various chapters of change in my life, one steadfast constant has been the presence of horses.
In my present work, I weave together the essence of horses and the elusive concept of "Heimat" within the canvas of abstract landscapes. With each layer, I aim to capture the timeless beauty of the land, while the meaning of "Heimat" remains a perpetual enigma for me. This artistry is not just a reflection of my enduring connection to the notion of home and belonging, extending beyond physical boundaries, but also a nod to the emotional bond I share with these horses that have been a constant thread throughout my journey.

“My artwork captures unique moments of these majestic animals in motion. Trapped within the moment, they try to escape from the two-dimensional frames they find themselves in and unleash their strength through the observer's eyes.

It is up to the observer's fantasy to decide whether the horses eventually break free - or whether they have to remain within their moment forever.“
